UFC 312 (on February 8, 2025) is a highly anticipated PPV card featuring a title fight taking place in Australia featuring a title rematch between champion Dricus Du Plessis and the outspoken Sean Strickland. In their last fight, Du Plessis captured a controversial decision which saw him take significant damage from Strickland. After capturing the belt from Strickland, the South African Du Plessis defended his strap against former champion Israel Adesanya. Strickland last entered the Octagon in a bout where he outlasted the powerful Paulo Costa. In the co-main event, Weili Zhang defends her title against wrestler Tatiana Suarez. The undercard also features some exciting prospects like Kody Steele and Ilia Topuria’s brother Alex.
Update: Dricus Du Plessis defended his belt in dominant fashion by outstriking Sean Strickland over 5 rounds. Strickland couldn’t get going and was consistently beat to the punch by the champion. In the co-main event, Weili Zhang continued to show why she should be in the conversation for GOAT beating Tatiana Suarez at her own game. Suarez was able to get a takedown in the first round but a nasty cut on her knee appeared to leave her flustered in the later rounds and Zhang dominated on the ground and feet.
