It is yet to be seen whether the official fighter pay will be released from UFC 293 but veteran fighter John Makdessi disclosed his pay recently on Social media and it certainly is interesting. From his $58k show purse, he ended up losing almost $3500 due to medical, airfare and “other” fees. The airfare is surprising because many are under the impression that the UFC covers travel expenses for fighters and coaches. Who knows if perhaps Makdessi had corner team members beyond the allotted number (just speculation). Foreign tax was also a massive hit to Makdessi’s pay at 45%. After all was said and done, the veteran only took home a little over $28k.
