UFC 299 (on March 9, 2024) is a PPV card scheduled in Miami, Florida headlined by a bantamweight title fight between outspoken champion Suga Sean O’Malley and challenger Chito Vera. This blockbuster card is stacked from top to bottom. In the co-main event, former champion Dustin Poirier takes on up and comer Benoit St Denis. This card also features the UFC debut of Michael Venom Page vs Kevin Holland.
Update: In the main event, Sean O’Malley put on an absolute clinic in a one sided drubbing of challenger Chito Vera. O’Malley stayed on the outside and continually sniped the Ecuadorian fighter. In the end, O’Malley won a unanimous decision for his first title defense. Afterwards, he called out featherweight champion Ilia Topuria. The co-main event proved to be a thriller as Dustin Poirier knocked out Benoit St. Denis in the second round. St Denis looked to be the more aggressive fighter in the first round, continually pressuring Poirier and threatening with submissions. St Denis’ aggression proved to be his downfall though as Poirier’s vaunted power proved to be too much for the Frenchman. Michael “Venom” Page also lived up to the hype in his UFC debut, outclassing Kevin Holland with his elusive style. O’Malley, Jack Della Maddalena, Curtis Blaydes, Michel Pereira and Robelis Despaigne took home Performance of the Night bonuses while Poirier and St Denis earned Fight of the Night
